Deccan Chargers and Royal Challengers moved up the table with 2 out of 2 wins, while Delhi DareDevils slipped down with 2 losses in a row.

Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indian and Deccan Chargers looks solid so far in IPL3.
CSK missing Dhoni and DD missing Gambhir badly.
Chennai Super Kings and Delhi DareDevils will be gaining strength when they get back Dhoni and Gambhir resp. from injuries.

Deccan Chargers won the first Semi Final match against Delhi Daredevils by 6 wickets and they are through to the finals.

Gilchrist won the toss and elected to field first, as he always does.

Delhi Daredevils lost 2 wickets without any runs on the board. Gambhir and Warner got out for a duck each and the score was 0/2. Sehwag and Dilshan batted well to get Delhi to a reasonable score. At the end of 20 overs Daredevils managed to score 153 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.

Gilchrist played a bliztering innings to take Deccan Chargers to the finals of IPL T20 2009

Gilchrist and Gibbs opened the innings for Deccan Chargers. Nannes opened the bowling and he was hit for 5 fours in the first over by Gilchrist. Gibbs got out the next over for a duck. Gilchrist continued hitting all over the park and scored the fastest IPL half century in just 18 balls. He got out the last ball just before strategic break and he scored 85 runs in just 35 balls. Deccan Chargers reached 154 runs in the 18th over and won the match comfortably by 6 wickets.

Deccan Chargers will play with the winner of the Second Semi final to be held today.

Royal Challengers Bangalore won the match against Delhi Daredevils by 7 wickets. They still have chance to move to the semi finals provided they win their last match. All the teams now have 1 match to play each.

For Kings XI Punjab, Deccan Chargers, Royal Challengers Bangalore

• Must win their only match

For Chennai Super Kings

• Shouldn’t lose their match by big margin. Defeat by <50 runs shouldn’t risk their semi final chance.

While Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore did well to recover from the worst position they were in after first 5 matches. Chennai Super Kings just had 3 points and Royal Challengers had 2 points. Deccan Chargers and Mumbai Indians were the teams to give away the early advantage they had. They both lost 4 matches in a row.

Delhi Daredevils won their match against Rajasthan Royals by 14 runs. Rajasthan Royal now need to win their only other league match and hope that either Deccan Charger or Kings XI Punjab to lose their league match.

AB de Villiers fifty took Delhi to a good score

Sehwag the captain of Delhi Daredevils won the toss and elected to bat first. Gambhir and Sehwag opened the innings for Delhi. Both the openers got out in the 3 over of the match bowled by Munaf Patel. Gambhir was caught and bowled for 8(8) while Sehwag got out lbw for 2(8). AB de Villiers and Dilshan joined to steady the innings and they took the score to 66/2 at strategic time out. They both played well and put on 87 runs for the third wicket. Dilshan scored 33 runs in 41 ball and got out bowled by Botha. Delhi Daredevils were struggling at 115/2 after 18 overs. Munaf came to bowl and conceded 25 runs in the 19 over and this turned out to be the turning point of the match. They scored another 10 runs in last over and reached 150 just losing 3 wickets. AB de Villiers played well for his 79 not out of just 55 balls. Shane Warne used 8 bowlers but none of them could really put any pressure on Delhi batsman.
